President's Message - Season 2017 / 2018

Referees,

The Club Soccer Season is upon us. With the monthly trainings that we have had, we have a jump start in our preparation for the season. Palm Desert Youth Soccer League (PDYSL) games will start mid-September. Things of importance and emphasis this season are Anchored Goals. No game will start without anchored Goals. No exceptions. 

Water Breaks, it is pretty Hot when the season begins especially for teams that come in from cooler climates. Be attentive to the needs of the players and do not deny them a water break if it is needed. Don't forget to keep yourself hydrated too!

Refresh your knowledge of the Player Development Initiatives (PDI’s). They are in effect this season. You should review and print the documents out for your reference.

Check your uniforms and equipment, come to the fields early and come prepared. Links to buy equipment are in the resources tab. Please note that this year we are using Arbiter.com for assignment of games. You must recertify, send in your registration form, pay your dues and create an arbiter.com account in order to be assigned games. Communication is vital. If for some reason you are certified and did not get contacted for games, let us know ASAP.

When you arrive at the fields early, check the players and their ID cards. The coaches must also have an ID card, No cards = No game. Please remember to return the ID cards after the game. That means don’t wait for the team administrators to come to you, seek them out. We only keep ID cards of players in cases of Violent conduct or Referee Abuse.
