As we are beginning the season, here are items and protocol to follow:
Referee’s should carry and present their Cal South\USSF ID card and present it upon request. Arrive early and check in the players, Check-in includes obtaining 3 copies of the roster, game fees and player ID cards. Check to make sure the ID’s match each player and all players that are going to play have an ID and place a checkmark on the roster. If a player does not have an ID, they cannot play NO EXCEPTIONS. No hard or plaster casts are allowed. Home team chooses the side of the field their spectators will be on and will change in case of a color conflict. If a player arrives late, they will be allowed to play as long as they have an ID card and hands it to the referee. The coach or the referee should add the name and player ID number to the roster at the first opportunity or after the game. If one or both teams feel there is something wrong with players, ID’s etc. They have the right to not sign the match report. It is the referee’s responsibility to detail these incidents in the match report. A coach or team administrator with a Proper ID card must be present for the whole match. Do not start the match or continue a match without a licensed team coach or administrator NO EXCEPTIONS. If a team fails to show, does not have ID cards or does not have a licensed coach or administrator within 15 minutes after the time the match was to start, the game is subject to a forfeit and the referee must detail this in the match report. Remember to completely fill out the match report and any additional reports if necessary and mail them in ASAP. Remember to give the teams back their Player ID cards after the match. We only pull and mail in ID’s or license in the case of assault or Violent conduct. Remember water breaks and staying hydrated for Referee’s and the players. Have Fun out there, if there are any unusual circumstances that we have not covered let us know. We are posting the CSL rules on the resources page of the website for you to reference. Fellow Referees,
In a little more than a week (Sept 10\11) our club season kicks off. Two weeks after that PDYSL games begin (Sept 24th ). As we have been telling you in the training sessions, there are some changes this year. Please arm yourselves with the information to represent yourself and our association to the highest caliber. New IFAB Laws will be in effect. No Heading will be allowed in U11 games or younger. Water Breaks and player safety are of the highest priority. New Uniforms are starting to show up, if you use them you can mix old with new but color and sleeve length must match. By 2018 we should all be wearing the new style uniform. We will have a membership form out shortly, please fill it out and submit your $25 membership fee. If you are under 18, no fees are due. Always bring your USSF ID card and be prepared to show it upon request. Make sure you are on the Cal South list for 2016 or 2017. If you are not there, there is still time to certify/recertify. We are having a local field training day on Sat September 17 th for those of you who need to finish their R8 badge requirements. Remember to contact our assignor Nick Paciuilli and let him know you are ready for games. New laws and videos can be found in the resources tab on our website and remember to like us on Facebook and spread the word. I hope to see and work with all of you out there! If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact us. Warmest Regards, DVSRA President, Alfred Medina |
